Glasgow Aneurysm Score
The Glasgow aneurysm score (GAS) calculates the risk of death for patients admitted to hospital with a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. An initial multiregression equation has been reduced to a simple formula:
GAS = (age in years) + (17 for shock) + (7 for myocardial disease)
+ (10 for cerebrovascular disease) + (14 for renal disease)
A GAS of 85 has been suggested as the best cut-off score between death and survival.
